North Wales is a great place to explore by bike, whether you are after road cycling, family friendly cycle routes, mountain biking or even down hilling there is something to suit every type of rider.

Lon Las Gwyrfai – Caernarfon to Waunfawr (National Cycle route 61).
This route has now been extended between the villages of Rhyd Ddu to Beddgelert (totally off road), providing a great link between the villages. The Welsh Highland Railway has facilities to transport bikes so why not leave the car and to cycle to Waunfawr station (5 minutes from the bunkhouse) take the train to Rhyd Ddu, cycle along the trail to Beddgelert and finally return home by train.
Lon Las Eifion – Caernarfon to Bryncir (12 1/2 miles)
Lon Las Menai – Caernarfon to Felinheli (4 1/2 miles)
Lon Las Cymru – From Holyhead in Anglesey through the Snowdonia & Brecon Beacons National Parks to the Wye Valley.
Bike Hire
Beics Menai – Caernarfon (5 miles) – ideally placed for cycle routes Lon Las Eifion and Lon Las Menai
Beddgelert Bikes – Beddgelert (9 miles) – mountain bike hire, newly opened route from village to Rhyd Du – Lon Gwyrfai
Beics Betws – Betws y Coed (30 miles) – ideally placed for Marin Trail in Gwydyr Forest
Beics Brenin – Coed y Brenin (40 miles) – set within the Visitor centre.
There are a number of great even world class forestry trails all within an easy hours drive from the bunkhouse.

Marin Trail – Gwydyr Forest Betws y Coed (40mins) – 25km of trails
Penmachno (50mins) – 25kms of forestry trails
Coed y Brenin (45mins) – World class facilities and large variety of trails.

ROCK CLIMBING
North Wales is renowned as a venue for rock climbing, from beginners through to the experts there is somewhere for all.
There are numerous local instructors able to introduce you to this fabulous sport and even where it is raining you can visit the Beacon Climbing Centre in Caernarfon.
WATERSPORTS
Kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, surfing, sailing, wild swimming the list if endless.
With a stunning coastline around the Llyn Peninsular (Porthmadoc, Black Rock Sands, Abersoch, Aberdaron) and then Caernarfon Bay Dinas Dinlle, Menai Straits and Anglesey) to picturesque lakes.
